Job Description Summary                                                                           

The Crew Member Operator of the Property Maintenance Division is responsible for assisting Crew Leaders in the maintenance of various lawn properties.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate weed eaters, lawn tractors, power edgers, power mowers, backpack sprayers, hoes, shovels, hand tools and related landscape equipment as required
  • Gardening duties such as: raking, pruning, weeding, spreading mulch/loam, planting annuals/perennials, watering
  • Operate various types of snow removal equipment such as snow blowers and plough trucks
  • Record damage to equipment
  • Coordinate and participate in the proper care of landscaping and grounds maintenance to include trimming, edging, weeding, pruning of trees and shrubs
  • Apply herbicides and fungicides
  • Plant seeds, bulbs, plants, mulch and fertilizers as directed
  • Inspect assigned areas for plant damage, disease, soil erosion, or landscape problems and report to Division Manager
  • Identify plants, insects, pests and diseases as appropriate
  • Proper use of equipment and tools as assigned
  • Follow all company policies and procedures

 

Relationships

Internally, relate to Operations Manager, Division Manager, General Manager, Crew Leads, crew members and Division Manager.  This position reports directly to the Operations Manager. Externally, relate to clients, vendors and subcontractors.

  • Possess a valid drivers license
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Previous experience in Winter and Summer maintenance is an asset
