CHATFIELD DISTRICT PARK

This new District Park includes a centrepiece 1,500 sq ft custom fieldhouse. The structure has a timber roof with an 1,100 sq ft overhang and is clad with masonry providing a rustic aesthetic. It incorporates changerooms/washrooms, storage, a utility room for the the adjacent splash pad, and a concession stand. Park construction included sediment controls, topsoil management, major earthworks, civil site servicing, paved vehicular access and formal parking with 96 spaces. Recreational amenities include a fenced ball diamond with clay infield and irrigation. Play courts include 4 tennis courts with penetration asphalt/acrylic colour surfacing, a basketball court and hockey courts. All courts are fenced. The playground precinct has rubber tile surfacing and a splash pad with coloured concrete paving. In the adjacent picnic area an 1,100 sq ft custom steel shade structure has been constructed and a 4,000 sq ft GIP concrete skatepark with street-style elements. The site is finished with asphalt & concrete walkways, walkway and parking lot lighting, high mast sports lighting for the ball diamond, seat nodes, extensive plantings, sodding and naturalized seeding at LID areas.
