ST. BONIFACE CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

BRESLAU, ON

A new 4041m2, 2-storey elementary school with a capacity of 260 students from JK to Grade 8 as well as an 88 space childcare and earlyON centre for children. The building, consisting of 12 classrooms, offi ces, washrooms, gymnasium, library and childcare spaces is designed as a load bearing masonry and steel framed structure with precast concrete fl oors and OWSJ supporting a built-up roof sys-tem. Exterior wall fi nishes include brick and block masonry, aluminum composite wall panels and horizontal metal siding. Site construction included site grading, site servicing, asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, site lighting, hard and soft landscaping & playground equipment installation. With the uncertainty brought on by the onset of COVID-19, there was a poten-tial for schedule delays severe enough to jeopardize opening for the 2021-2022 school year. Thanks to the diligence of our Health and Safety team, we were quickly able to develop our COVID protocols that allowed for continued work when a large portion of the construction industry was shut down.
