Stanley Greene Neighbourhood Park

DOWNSVIEW PARK TORONTO, ON

Completed in Fall of 2019, this urban park includes a large playground and fitness area, a 5,500 sq ft splash pad and 9,000 sq ft CIP concrete skatepark. The park is anchored by an iconic washroom building clad with corten steel panels and roofed with a 2,200 sq ft canopy also providing outdoor shaded space. Decorative pavements include concrete, unit paving, a rubber surfaced walking loop and Kebony wood boardwalk. Two lit and fenced tennis courts have coloured plexipave surfacing. The project also required installation of custom art benches supplied by Michael Singer Art Studio, with LED strip lighting. Softscape included extensive plantings and sodded lawns. The project required full site services including hydro, watermain, sanitary & storm, with irrigation, a rink hydrant and bottle filling station. LID features include a rain garden with bio-retention media, and a network of french drains and infiltration pits. The park incorporates 8 very large 500-700mm caliper existing trees which had to be protected during construction.
